When John the Baptist asks whether Jesus is the Coming One, Jesus points to what is happening: the blind see, the lame walk, lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and good news reaches the poor in . Those works echo and .
The signs do not merely establish that a supernatural event occurred. They identify the agent and message: Israel's promised salvation has arrived in Jesus.
Compassion Moving Toward The Cross
Jesus sees suffering people, touches the unclean, welcomes desperate parents, and feeds the hungry. His compassion is not sentimental distance. He enters the misery caused by the fall and carries it toward His own suffering.
