Has Science Disproved God?

A scientific experiment defines physical variables, observes their relationship, and tests whether a result repeats. That method can show that a proposed physical mechanism fails or that another mechanism explains the data better. It cannot sample all reality and report that no nonphysical Creator exists. The universal statement “only matter and energy are real” is metaphysics—the study of what ultimately exists—not a reading from an instrument.

Institutional science usually seeks natural explanations because those fit shared, testable procedures. If divine agency is excluded at the starting boundary, its absence from the resulting model tells us about the method's rules. It does not tell us God is absent from reality. When a kettle boils, one explanation points to molecular motion and heat transfer. Another says a person wanted tea and switched it on. Christian belief does not begin with “science has not answered this yet.” The positive case asks what kind of cause fits what exists. The universe had no obligation to be mathematically ordered, life-permitting, and accessible to rational minds. Living systems contain coordinated molecular machinery and information-rich sequences. Human beings reason about universal truth, recognize moral obligation, create, love, and seek meaning.

These features fit the biblical account of a rational, personal, morally perfect Creator who made humans in His image. Romans 1:18-23 says God's eternal power and divine nature are perceived through what He made. Nature reveals that there is a powerful divine Maker, but the Gospel identifies Him more fully.
