Nothing required for reconciliation with God has been withheld behind an unwritten tradition or secret spiritual rank. The whole counsel of God is either expressly stated or necessarily drawn from the Bible's teaching.

Not An Encyclopedia Of Every Skill

The Bible teaches that creation has a stable, intelligible order and commands wise stewardship. That authorizes observation, measurement, craftsmanship, medicine, history, and learned skill. A surgeon may know an anatomical detail not named in Scripture without adding doctrine to Scripture.

These fields remain subordinate in moral and theological judgment. Science can describe an intervention; it cannot redefine human dignity, sin, marriage, or worship against God's Word. Expertise supplies facts and means while Scripture governs ultimate meaning and obedience.

Sufficient Scripture Gives Helpers

Scripture itself appoints parents, pastors, teachers, elders, and mature believers. It commends wisdom, counsel, memory, and careful study. Using those gifts does not deny sufficiency because their job is to help people understand and apply the sufficient Word.

No New Binding Revelation

The apostolic Gospel has been delivered once for all, and the canonical Word provides the permanent standard. God guides His children by providence, wisdom, prayer, conscience shaped by Scripture, and the Spirit's illumination. None of those becomes a new infallible sentence binding the Church.

Impressions must be held humbly and tested. A claim that “God told me” cannot override a biblical command, create doctrine, demand another person's obedience, or escape examination.

Sufficiency gives freedom: believers need not hunt for a missing divine rule because God has fully supplied the Word that leads to Christ and faithful life.

Why Do We Need Teachers?

Because Scripture commands and supplies them. A teacher has no new revelation to add; he explains context, guards doctrine, corrects error, and trains others to read. The existence of difficult material shows the value of teaching, not a defect in the Word being taught.

What About Medicine And Psychology?

Receive verified knowledge of the body, behavior, trauma, and treatment as common-grace insight, while testing its view of humanity and morality by Scripture. Medicine can treat disease; counsel can identify patterns; neither may redefine sin, absolve guilt before God, or replace the Gospel and biblical wisdom.

Does The Spirit Still Guide?

Yes. He illuminates Scripture, sanctifies desires, gives wisdom, works through counsel, and rules providential circumstances. His guidance will agree with His written Word and never carries a private claim's infallible authority. Believers may act wisely without pretending every decision was newly dictated by God.

What About New Ethical Problems?

Scripture provides enduring doctrines, commands, purposes, and patterns that govern new technologies and circumstances. The Bible need not name social media, gene editing, or artificial intelligence to command truth, protect life, honor marriage, reject idolatry, love neighbor, and steward power responsibly.
