Sola Scriptura

Christ gives teachers to His Church, commands believers to learn from faithful leaders, and calls His people into a worshiping community. Sola Scriptura rejects none of that. It establishes the order of authority: teachers and traditions serve under the Word they explain.

• Creeds summarize biblical doctrine but do not add revelation.

2 Timothy 3:14-17 says the sacred writings make a person wise for salvation through faith in Christ and declares all Scripture God-breathed. The result is sufficiency for the task God gives: Scripture teaches, reproves, corrects, trains, and equips His servant for every good work.

2 Peter 1:20-21 grounds prophecy in the Holy Spirit rather than human will. The Bible's authority rests in its divine Author, not in a later institution's approval.

Jesus called Scripture the Word of God that cannot be broken in John 10:34-36. When religious leaders used tradition to evade God's command, He answered that they were making the Word of God void by their tradition in Mark 7:6-13.

Jesus did not reject every inherited practice. He rejected any practice that displaced or contradicted what God had spoken. That is the operating principle of Sola Scriptura.

The Church is built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets with Christ as the cornerstone, according to Ephesians 2:19-22. A foundation is laid once. The prophetic Old Testament and apostolic New Testament preserve that foundational revelation for the whole Church.

The Bereans tested even Paul's preaching against the Scriptures in Acts 17:10-12. Apostolic teaching did not fear biblical examination. Every later preacher, movement, vision, and tradition stands under the same test.

Scripture alone is infallible because God alone is infallible, and Scripture is the Word He breathed out for His Church.

Every final authority is involved when it is identified as final; appealing to a higher standard would make that other standard supreme. The Christian case is not the bare sentence "the Bible is true because it says so." Scripture's self-testimony stands together with fulfilled prophecy, historical reliability, apostolic witness, the Resurrection, and Jesus' own authority. The claim explains the evidence and withstands the tests it commands.
