The Bible supplies a fair and decisive method for comparing religions by revelation, Jesus, salvation, history, logic, and fruit.
Summary
Religions should be compared by their strongest official or primary claims, not stereotypes. Ask who God is, what went wrong with humanity, how guilt is answered, who Jesus is, what historical events anchor the message, and whether the system is logically coherent. Scripture is the final authority, and Christ's Resurrection is the decisive public confirmation. Other systems contain borrowed truths, but none supplies the biblical Creator, incarnate Savior, finished atonement, and risen Lord together.
Test Every Spirit And Every Claim
Fair comparison honors people enough to hear them accurately and honors God enough to name decisive error.
Compare Claims, Not Caricatures
Use recognized primary texts and official summaries. Distinguish a tradition's foundational teaching from one neighbor's personal version. State internal diversity when it affects the claim. Then compare the same categories across systems: ultimate reality, humanity, evil, salvation, revelation, history, and final destiny.
This method prevents cheap victories. It also prevents the vague claim that every religion teaches love from hiding deep contradiction.
God's Word Is The Final Test
Christians do not place Scripture in a neutral court above God. His breathed Word judges human tradition and claimed revelation (). A later voice that denies the apostolic gospel is false even if accompanied by spiritual experiences ().
Scripture's standard is not circular in a vicious sense: every worldview has a final authority. The Bible's self-witness comes with coherent doctrine, fulfilled promise, historical setting, transforming power, and above all the vindicated Christ.
The Jesus Test Exposes The Divide
Ask whether a system confesses Jesus Christ as God the Son come in flesh, crucified for sins, bodily risen, and reigning. Christianity and Islam examines a later denial of the crucifixion. Christianity and Eastern Religions contrasts resurrection and grace with karma, rebirth, and enlightenment. New Age and Private Spirituality tests claims of inner divinity and self-authentication.
No respectful synthesis can make Jesus both Creator and only a creature, both crucified and not crucified, or bodily risen and merely symbolic.
Only The Gospel Solves Guilt Justly
Humanity needs more than improved behavior or altered consciousness. We need reconciliation to the holy personal Creator. Karma multiplies payment; moral scales leave justice unsettled; self-realization denies the Creator-creature distinction; ritual cannot cleanse the conscience.
At the cross, God remains just while justifying the believer (). Salvation is received by grace, so boasting and caste-like spiritual superiority are excluded.

Questions
Can Christians Disagree Without Disrespecting People?
Yes. Every person bears God's image and deserves truthfulness, patience, safety, and neighbor love. Ideas do not possess feelings or rights; they may be examined firmly. Jesus combined compassion for people with unambiguous correction of false worship. Mockery weakens apologetics, while clarity serves love.
What About Powerful Spiritual Experiences?
An experience proves that someone experienced something; it does not identify the source or validate an interpretation. Experiences can arise from expectation, emotion, deception, or genuine spiritual activity. Scripture commands testing by revealed truth and the confession of Christ. No sign can authorize a gospel God has condemned.
Does Good Moral Fruit Prove A Religion?
Good conduct deserves acknowledgment, but it cannot validate contradictory metaphysics or erase sin. People outside Christianity can act admirably because they bear God's image and receive common grace; professing Christians can act wickedly by disobeying Christ. Truth testing must include doctrine, historical claims, and the source of salvation as well as behavior.
