The Holy Spirit gives new birth, unites believers to Christ, indwells them, assures them, sanctifies them, and equips the Church.
Summary
The Holy Spirit is God, the third Person of the Trinity, not an impersonal energy. He gives new birth, unites believers to Jesus, dwells within them, opens Scripture, assures them of adoption, produces holiness, empowers prayer, and gives gifts for the Church's good. A Spirit-filled life is therefore a Christ-centered, Scripture-governed, loving, obedient life that depends on His power rather than chasing spiritual excitement.
God Present With His People
Jesus promised another Helper who would remain with His people and glorify Him.
He Applies Christ's Salvation
The Father planned redemption, the Son accomplished it, and the Spirit applies it. He causes new birth (), unites believers into Christ's body (), and seals them as God's possession and guarantee of inheritance ().
Every true Christian belongs to Christ because the Spirit dwells within (). His presence is not a prize for an elite class of believers.
He Leads Through Truth And Holiness
The Spirit inspired Scripture and illumines hearts to receive it (; ). He never leads against the Word He gave. Jesus says the Spirit glorifies the Son by taking what belongs to Christ and making it known ().

He Gives Gifts For The Body
The Spirit distributes gifts according to His will, and every gift exists for the common good (). Teaching, serving, mercy, generosity, leadership, encouragement, and other ministries belong under Christ's Lordship.
Gifts do not measure spiritual superiority. places love at the center, and requires gathered ministry to build others up in peace and order.

Questions
Is The Spirit A Force?
No. The Person And Deity Of The Spirit shows that He teaches, speaks, wills, can be grieved, and knows God's depths. Impersonal power does none of those things. Scripture also directly identifies lying to the Holy Spirit as lying to God.
Does Every Believer Have Him?
Yes. Anyone without the Spirit of Christ does not belong to Christ (), and all believers were baptized by one Spirit into one body (). Christians should continually seek His filling and influence, but they do not wait to become a second class of Christian first.
What About Spiritual Claims?
Testing Spiritual Claims applies Scripture's tests. No dream, impression, prophecy claim, miracle report, or intense feeling can outrank the Bible. Test its view of Jesus, truth, fruit, method, and effect on the Church.
How Can I Be Filled?
Submit to Christ, let His Word dwell richly, confess sin, pray, worship with the Church, and walk in obedient faith (; ). Filling is His governing influence, expressed in worship, gratitude, love, and mutual service.
